A 39-YEAR-OLD man has been remanded in custody after being charged with attempted murder.

David Arnold appeared before City of Westminster Magistrates' Court today (October 22).

He is charged with attempted murder after a woman was pushed in front of a train at Woolwich Arsenal station.

He was remanded in custody ahead of a further hearing at the Old Bailey on January 28 next year.

The victim, a 24-year-old south London woman, was taken to hospital suffering a broken collar bone and facial injuries, following the October 19 incident.

Arnold was arrested on the same night after surrendering himself to police.

The victim, who was hit by the 20.14 Gillingham to Charing Cross service, was discharged from hospital on October 20.

Police are appealing to anyone who was at the station at the time of the incident to contact 0800 40 50 40.
