Police in Greenwich are appealing for help to find a man after a woman was stabbed in the back. 

Officers have confirmed that the man wanted is Peter Morley, 35, and hw should not be approached by members of the public. 

Police were called to Angelsea Road in Woolwich around 9.30am this morning (September 10) and found a woman in her 20s suffering from stab wounds.

The injured woman was taken by London’s Air Ambulance to a central London hospital but her condition is not known yet. 

Mr Morley is wanted for questioning in relation to this incident. 

Anyone who sees Mr Morley or knows where he is should call 999 immediately. 

Detective Chief Inspector Lesley Hamilton said: "It is important that we locate Mr Morley quickly and without further incident and I urge anyone who sees him not to hesitate to call the police without delay.

"Officers remain at the scene and additional patrols are being conducted to provide reassurance to the public while the search for Peter Morley is undertaken."
