Delays are expected on Southeastern this morning after smoke was seen coming out of one its trains.

The incident occurred in Ladywell with the rail company advising that this would be affecting those travelling into London.

"We have been advised of smoke coming from a train at Ladywell which will affect trains from Hayes towards London," it wrote.

"The train which developed at a fault at Lewisham has now moved, there may be delays and short notice alterations whilst we recover the service.

"Sorry for any delay to your journey this morning."

As a result of the disruption, passengers have been advised that they may use tickets at no extra cost on London Buses between Hayes and Lewisham.
