More than 4,000 children were welcomed to The Glades Shopping Centre in the past four weeks to learn about the human body.

Dressed in white lab coats, the kids joined a team of consultants for 40-minute surgery sessions.

Bromley children were taught how the heart, brain, lungs and limbs work, as well as understanding the benefits of exercise and healthy living.

Craig Higgins, marketing manager for The Glades, said: “It has been a hugely exciting event where everyone, including adults, came away knowing something new about our magnificent bodies.

“Learning never stops, not even for the six-week holidays and we’re so pleased that it’s been the talk of the town all holiday.”

Laura Waddell, publishing manager at HarperCollins, added: “Curiosity and fun is at the heart of what we do at National Geographic Kids Books, so this event was a perfect way to share some weird but true facts! I’m thrilled there was a brilliant turnout.”

The national ‘Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes: A Journey Through the Human Body’ event was in partnership with National Geographic Kids.
