A Chislehurst dance school got the chance of a lifetime and recently performed at Disneyland Paris.

The Michelle Sidwell Academy of Dance offers classes to children up to the age of 18 and over the bank holiday weekend treated their students to an amazing opportunity.

Principle, Michelle Sidwell, said that she wanted to give her students this amazing opportunity through the Disney Performing Arts Scheme.

The students auditioned back in October 2017 by sending in video footage, and after hearing they had been successful began rehearsing immediately.

The opportunity gave them the chance to stage their own show in the heart of Disneyland at The Videopolis Theatre.

A total of 23 students ranging from eight to 18 performed to songs from The Greatest Showman, 42nd Street and The Halcian to a packed out audience.

The children also had a dance workshop with a Disney professional on the Sunday morning which lasted 90 mins.

They learnt a routine which is currently used in a Disney show and also had a Q&A with the lady who took the performance.

Michelle said: "The children performed with such professionalism and even members of the Disney Performing Arts team commented on the children’s professionalism, dance technique, choreography and performance."
