An Eltham mother wants to warn others after her daughter was intimidated by moped riders.

Mary-Ann Thomlinson took to Eltham, SE9 on Facebook on Sunday (August 19) to make parents aware of potential muggers on mopeds.

She said: "My 22 year old daughter was walking home last night at 8.30pm from Eltham station up Dunvegan Road towards Westmount Road when she was confronted by two mopeds with both driver and pillion passengers who kept driving up and down past her at speed and then one jumped off the back heading towards and looking for her."

The worried mother praised her daughter for her quick thinking, saying she ran into someone's driveway and hid behind wheelie bins until they had left.

Mary-Ann said: "Suffice to say say she was terrified. She has lived in Eltham Park Gardens all her life and is a sensible girl who has never felt threatened before."

The mother reported the alleged incident online to the police and is awaiting a reply.
