A passenger on a Southeastern train has described his shock at boarding a service to Bexleyheath to find a window splattered with a red substance.

Martin Adamcik was travelling from Charing Cross station last Saturday shortly after 4pm when he noticed the red liquid that was sprayed on the window of the carriage.

"It was rather disgusting to see that sight," Martin told News Shopper.

He posted photos of the window on Facebook, saying the substance looked like "blood".

Martin said: "Southeastern trains for you. Splashes of blood is definitely not something you want to see on the window."

However, some people suggested the red liquid was more likely to be paint. Martin admitted he "could not be 100 per cent sure it was blood."

A Southeastern spokeswoman confirmed the substance was not blood, but paint spray from graffiti on the carriage.
