A girl celebrating her 16th birthday had her special occasion ruined when thugs on a moped attacked her boyfriend.

The birthday girl was with her two friends and boyfriend when they were walking near her home in Rangefield Road, Bromley on Friday (August 20) at around 2pm.

Her mum, Kim Nelson, 47, told News Shopper: "I got a knock on the door and my daughter came in shaking from head to foot.

"She couldn’t even talk."

The traumatised teenager explained to her mum how two boys on a moped looked at them as they drove past before turning around.

They asked her boyfriend where he was from before punching him when he said Downham, the mum said.

"He ran away and they couldn’t catch him," she added.

"My daughter ran the opposite way towards home and her two friends hid in a bush when they heard the moped coming back."

Eventually the teenagers were reunited safely before the police were called.

Kim said: "They are all shocked. I just can’t let it go. I can’t stop thinking about it. She says she is fine but they are not fine.

"When they go out now I won’t be able to settle."

She said nothing was taken from the teenagers during the scare.

Both of the people on mopeds were wearing helmets and one of them supposedly shouted that they would “get them next time” as they ran away.
