More than 15,000 people celebrated this year’s Biggin Hill Airshow, which coincided with the 100-year anniversary of the Royal Air Force.
Visitors were treated with special shows from the Red Arrows, old-style aircraft models and stunts from specially-trained pilots.
Colin Hitchins, Festival of Flight director at London Biggin Hill Airport, said: “The team has worked incredibly hard to make this year’s Festival a weekend to remember.
“The Hardest Day re-enactment, brought to life by Hollywood pyrotechnics experts, was particularly moving and a brilliant tribute to the Second World War ground staff who courageously continued working whilst under attack.
“There are few sights or sounds that give rise to the same powerful emotions as those of the Supermarine Spitfire and the roaring Rolls-Royce Merlin engine.”
