A witness appeal has been issued for information after a man in his 60s was fatally stabbed at a house in Catford.

Police from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating after the man was found with stab wounds at the house, described as a "multi-occupancy address" in Ringstead Road in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Emergency services were called to the house at about 4am and the man was taken to hospital. He was pronounced dead at 5.28am.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out to formally identify the victim, and police are in the process of identifying his next of kin.

While officers continue their investigation, they have appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.
