An Abbey Wood road was on lockdown today after a bomb squad was spotted.
Police were called to Maran Way at 9.13am after reports of a suspicious package.
A man and woman have been arrested and remain in police custody, but there are no more details at the moment.
Officers remained on the scene as the package was being assessed and buses were diverted away from the area.
Local residents took to Thamesmead All Stages to alert others to the incident after spotting the bomb squad, London Ambulance Service and police.
