Sainsbury's is trialling its first 'till-free' store so shoppers will no longer have to queue.

Customers will be able to scan goods with a smartphone and put them straight into their bags.

Once they have completed their show their payment will be processed by the phone.

You will be able to download the Sainsbury's SmartShop app and this will let customers scan the contents of their trolley, and stop them wasting time at the checkout.

At the moment, only iPhone users will be able to use the app and eventually you will be able to use Apple Pay to pay immediately and leave the shop.

Clodagh Moriarty, group chief digital officer for Sainsbury's, acknowledged that some customers may find the experience uncomfortable at first.

But she told the BBC: "As we've been looking at customers over the past few days, the level of discomfort dissipates as more and more people do it."

If there are security tags on products, you will still have to see a member of staff, and at the moment you cannot buy alcohol using the app.

Ms Moriarty said the company was "aware of the risk" that some shoppers may not scan items and still take them home.

But she told the BBC: "When we design something like this, it is for the 99% of our customers who are honest.

"When you walk around the store you will see cameras, you will see security guards and over the coming weeks, we'll be staying very close to that store."

So what do you think?
