Plans to bulldoze a pair of bungalows in Bexleyheath and build a block of flats have been submitted to council planning officers.

Tranquil Homes has proposed a new housing scheme for Brampton Road.

The developer plans to demolish two semi-detached bungalows to build a three-storey block of 10 flats.

The majority of the flats would be two bedroom, and the developer has included seven parking spaces in the scheme.

The developer said in its planning statement: “The proposal has been carefully designed to ensure that it will provide the highest standard of residential accommodation for future occupiers.

“In addition, the design is sensitive to the neighbouring locally listed nursery and will be respectful to this building’s setting, enhancing views towards it from the public realm.

“It is our belief that this development will make best use of the site and create a desirable development that will preserve and enhance the character of the area.”

The proposed block of flats would be nearby to a listed building which houses the nursery Bright Horizons.

The application is being considered by council officers.
