A new Indian restaurant has opened in Hayes after the building lay vacant for five months.

Manager of Mumbai Central, Jaz Sandhu, told News Shopper he wanted to open in Bromley for a long time after the success of his other restaurant in Sevenoaks.

“Bromley is just a really nice area,” Jaz said. “I grew up in Dartford and the difference is chalk and cheese. The people are much friendlier and we wanted to keep it quite local.

“We thought Bromley would be the best place.”

Based on 18 Station Approach, Mumbai Central is offering free food and drink today (August 14) to raise money for Mencap in the hopes people will donate money.

The building was previously used as another Indian restaurant but Jaz said he hopes his business will be there for the long term.

He added: “Everyone is welcome here. The response has been great already and the place looks amazing.”
