A Greenwich mum is warning others after she was "terrorised and spat at" by a gang of youths on bikes.

The mother of two told News Shopper she was out shopping on Saturday morning when she saw a gang of boys riding into Decathlon at Greenwich Shopping Park.

After the boys came out, they spotted the woman and then approached her.

She said: “My husband and children were waiting for me as I popped into Homesense.

"I saw the boys and just wanted to get to my car quickly, I got into the car and told my husband to lock the door but he accidentally unlocked them."

Nine or 10 teenage boys surrounded the car, trying to intimidate the family.

"One of the boys opened one of the car doors and started spitting and shouting at me and my family, it was frightening.

"My children don’t want to get back in the car now because they are so scared it will happen again.”

She said she didn’t know what they were going to do in the unprovoked attack, and at one point she thought maybe they would throw acid on them all.

The woman, who asked not to be named, added: “We tried to drive away but they blocked the front of the car. They followed us all the way to the Blackwall Tunnel and then disappeared.

“We are just a normal family and it was terrifying to be targeted out of nowhere. This is happening all the time and it needs to stop.”

The mum says she has seen this group of boys around before and heard stories about them from others in the Charlton and Greenwich area.

Police have confirmed this incident was reported but because of a lack of information no further action could be taken at this time.

The woman is now urging others to stay alert, to keep all doors locked and leave enough space in front of your car to avoid being blocked in.
