A man has been arrested after a woman was taken to hospital with "possibly life changing" burn injuries.

Emergency services were called to reports of an injured woman at a residential address in London Road shortly before 7pm on August 11.

Police officers, the London Ambulance Service, London Air Ambulance Service, and the London Fire Brigade were all at the scene of the incident.

A Met Police spokeswoman confirmed a woman, aged in her 30s, was found with “serious injuries including burns”.

She added: “She was taken to a west London hospital where she remains in a stable condition. Her injuries are not life-threatening but are possibly life-changing.

“A 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent.

“He has been bailed to return on a date in early September.

“The victim and the suspect are known to each other.”

An air ambulance was spotted to having landed in Fairlands Park at the time of the incident, as people reported having seen the crew on social media.

A London Air Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed they had been called to reports of an incident shortly before 7pm that day.

The patient was treated at the scene before being transferred by road to a major trauma hospital accompanied by the air ambulance crew.

Enquiries into the incident are underway, Scotland Yard said.
