For one day only a free summer party is coming to Charlton and here is everything you need to know.

A host of summer fun will come to Greenwich Shopping Park in Charlton next Thursday as they present their first ever 'Summer Takeover' event.

The parks 14 high street stores and restaurants will be open for business as usual as an array of summer-themed activities from 11am to 3pm.

Suitable for all ages, there will be something for everyone from hula hooping lessons to giant snakes and ladder competition.

All taking place on the main square outside Frankie and Benny’s, the event will also offer craft workshops hosted by staff from the Park’s Hobbycraft store and a competition to guess the name of a teddy, courtesy of local charity, The Maypole Project, who will be fundraising onsite throughout the day.

An event photographer will be on hand to capture the fun of the event, with guests invited to find post-event pictures via the Park’s Facebook page, which will also host an exclusive competition to win shopping vouchers for one of the Park’s 14 high-street stores.

Emma Norris, Community Fundraiser for The Maypole Project in Greenwich, added: “We are celebrating our 15th Anniversary this year and are keen to increase awareness of the services that we provide to children with complex medical needs and their families within the Greenwich borough.

“We’re really excited to be partnering with Greenwich Shopping Park for their Summer Takeover and hope visitors will join us and donate generously to The Maypole Project.”
