Plans to build a block of flats on the site of cottages in Greenhithe have been submitted for a third time.

The proposed development is for Knockhall Road, just next to Flint Cottage, which is a listed building.

In February 2012, permission was given to build 50 flats on the same site, which would have been made up of 24 two-bedroom flats, 12 three-bedroom flats and 14 four-bedroom maisonettes.

However, a second plan extended the number of homes by 16, of which 53 would have been two-bedroom apartments and 13 would have been three-bedroom apartments.

The proposal for a larger site was rejected by Dartford Council on the grounds it did not meet the quota for providing affordable housing or family housing.

But the new outline has made some changes and now pledges to build 64 flats instead of the initially proposed 66.

As well as the flats, the new proposal makes room for 110 parking spaces, including spaces for people living in flats in Flint Cottage.

Overall, the building will range from two to five storeys with a sloped roof.
