A robber who attacked a mum while she was out with her two-year-old daughter in Chislehurst has been jailed.

Leroy John, 37, of Wells Park Road, Sydenham, targeted the woman at the junction of Yester Road and Southill Road on June 12 at 2.50pm.

The mum was left “badly shaken and bruised” after John forcibly snatched her watch.

At the time her husband said: “Our daughter was in the buggy.

“We would hate for the perpetrator to repeat the offence on other women with children in the area or indeed anywhere.”

John was charged with three counts of robbery and on Tuesday (July 24) he was sentenced at Croydon Crown Court to 40 months in jail.

The other robberies related to incidents in Stumps Hill Lane, Beckenham, on May 11 and Chislehurst Road, Chislehurst, on May 18.
