Dartford residents are being invited to have their say in a second review of voting boundaries in the borough.

After a Community Governance Review changed the council's ward boundaries last month, the council now wants to review Dartford's parishes.

Parish councils in Dartford are elected by the people and are the lowest tier of local government.

They can add an extra charge to a person's council tax - called a precept - to fund their work.

The review of these parishes will consider making new parishes and getting rid of old ones, but also merging parishes together and changing the line boundaries of those that already exist.

According to the council, there have been several changes in Dartford since parish boundaries were last reviewed - which was "quite some time" ago.

Now the council has approved draft proposals for changes, it wants residents to give their opinions either by going online or sending letters to Electoral Services, Home Gardens, Dartford, Kent DA1 1DR.

The council will take all comments into account and publish the final review in September.

Boundary changes are due to come into force at the May 2019 elections.
