The serial sexual predator dubbed the Rush Hour Prowler, who attacked schoolgirls and young women as young as eight, has been sentenced to six years in prison.

Former nightclub owner Kevin Bond, 52, was exposed as the sex fiend who pounced on unsuspecting victims on their way to and from school or work across south-east London.

Bond, of Ingleby Way in Chislehurst, was sentenced today at Woolwich Crown Court for attacks that took place over a 13-month period.

He was told by the judge that his attacks were "distressing, shocking, violating, frightening, distressing and disturbing" to his victims.

It was revealed in November of last year that his youngest victim was just eight years old , and in one day alone Bond molested a 13-year-old girl and two women in their 20s in just 35 minutes.

Reported attacks ranged across SE London, including locations in Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich and Lewisham.

Bond would stare at his victims before grabbing them "forcefully" over their underwear by reaching up their skirts and "squeeze for one to two seconds", or hold them by the arm while grabbing their breasts and bottom, the court heard.

The court was told Bond began touching girls after he lost his nightclub, his mum committed suicide and his marriage collapsed.

Bond, who previously ran his own management consultancy, carried out his horrifying catalogue of assaults until detectives lined up his victims for an ID parade and also drew up an e-fit of the attacker in a bid to snare him.

Police also released CCTV showing Bond fleeing the scene of one of his attacks on a 15-year-old girl in Brockley at around 8.30am on November 22 last year.

He was finally arrested in January this year after his DNA was found on the jeans of one victim.

Bond pleaded guilty to 11 counts of sexual assault and three counts of sexual assault of a child under 13 on June 4.

Crown Prosecution Service London South senior crown prosecutor Daniel Geller said: “Bond is a dangerous sexual predator who will now spend time in prison for his crimes. We hope this conviction brings some closure to his victims and we thank them for their courage in coming forward to report these offences to the police.”

He was sentenced to six years in prison and has been placed on the sex offenders' register for life.

The court heard two psychologists both agreed Bond did not pose a further risk to the public and was not a paedophile.

Speaking outside court, Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy, of Lewisham Police, said he was "surprised" two psychologists came to that conclusion.

He said: "I was surprised as he struck at those times because he was a predator and they were his prey.

"There was an awful lot of public concern and a considerable desire to solve this case.

"We would come in to work thinking 'what is going to happen next?' 'Is it going to get more serious?' We're mums and dads as well and there was a real worry of this escalating if he wasn't caught soon."

It is thought there may be other victims of Bond who have not yet come forward, and police are urging them to do so.
