Staff at Premier Inn Orpington, located at The Walnuts shopping centre, have asked disruptive residents to leave after they were repeatedly warned about their behaviour.

A spokesman from Premier Inn told News Shopper: “We can confirm two groups of guests were asked to leave the hotel after repeated warnings about anti-social behaviour, causing damage to the hotel and being abusive towards our team members.

“The safety and wellbeing of our team members and guests is our number one priority and abusive behaviour simply won’t be tolerated.

"Our team do a wonderful job of welcoming millions of guests every year and it is regrettable that the behaviour of a small number of individuals required us to take this decision.”

Hyde Housing Association, which operates the damaged flats in Orpington High Street, has been under pressure to rehome people in temporary accommodation since the fire three weeks ago.

Asked about residents no longer being permitted in Premier Inn Orpington, Matt Ostler, head of empty homes and letting at Hyde, said: “Clearly our residents have been through a very distressing time since the fire.

“We are keen to continue supporting them and are working with the local authority and local providers to find more suitable housing as quickly as possible.”
