Kids at a primary school in Beckenham will be greeted by a number of new faces when they return from the holidays in September because of a huge staff turnover.

Harris Primary Academy Beckenham Green has written to parents to say 14 staff members are moving on this summer.

It wrote: “A number of staff are moving on to new challenges in September, so we do want to pass on our thanks to them for all their dedication, hard work and support for the children and families in our school.”

Asked about the staff turnover, a school spokeswoman told News Shopper: "The academy has just achieved a fabulous set of SATs results which indicate the high standards in the year since it joined our federation.

"Many teachers are staying and only three classes will have new teachers. We look forward to seeing the academy go from strength to strength next year."

One concerned parent, who did not want to be named, said: “It all seems like a complete mess.

“All the parents are concerned. When pupils go back to learning in September they will know more about the school’s processes than the teachers will.

“Teachers will have no knowledge of ongoing problems with kids either. It is a big worry for us.”

The staff members who are moving on are: Mrs Adams, Mrs Davies, Miss Fabricant, Miss Robinson, Mrs Bartley, Miss McAllen, Ms Bourne, Mrs Maxwell, Mrs Bergin, Mrs Fox, Mrs Clayson, Mrs Pethurst, Mrs Plumridge, Mrs Knox.
