The Glades shopping centre in Bromley is recruiting ‘junior doctors’ this summer holiday and it needs your children to help with operations.

Kids will be able to take part in Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes: A Journey Through the Human Body from July 25 to August 22, and it is completely free to attend.

The Glades in partnership with National Geographic Kids is recruiting Bromley’s mini-medical masterminds of the future to be the first in the country to go on a heart-thumping journey around the human body this summer.

The event located on the lower central atrium will see dinky doctors donning white coats before joining ‘senior surgeons’ for a 40-minute operation.

Craig Higgins, the centre’s marketing manager, said. “It’s an interactive activity with lots of weird and wonderful things to discover, with some surprises thrown in for good measure.

"The theme is very topical, with the NHS celebrating its 70th anniversary so this may inspire attendees to pursue a career in medicine."

Craig continued: “The Glades is growing a reputation for hosting out-of-the-box experiences and it’s such a thrill for us to be able to offer the community this level of entertainment.”

Junior doctors from school years 1 to 6 will tour the body’s various systems including circulatory, digestive, respiratory, nervous, musculoskeletal and immune, as well as learning about the importance of physical activity and all-round healthy living.

Once they come out of the other end and training has been completed, participants will receive a certificate stating their new status as a medical professional.

Although free to attend, tickets must be booked from the events page on The Glades’ website at www.theglades.co.uk
