A child who was 'threatening to jump in front of cars' has been found after a helicopter search across Crayford and Dartford.

Emergency services received a call at 7.40pm on Thursday evening to reports of a child threatening to take their own life.

According to reports received by police, a child was trying to jump in front of cars near Hall Place and Gardens.

After a helicopter search over the area for almost 40 minutes, the child was located safe and well.

A Met Police spokesman confirmed: "We were called at 7.40pm to reports of a child threatening to take their own life.

"Reports suggested the child was threatening to jump in front of cars near Hall Place and Gardens.

"Officers tried to find the child, looking across a field and sports ground using thermal imaging to find them.

"The child was eventually traced to Crayford Station and was found safe and well at 8.17pm."
