Students at Langley Park School for Boys have been warned about the consequences of dangerous driving after taking part in a road safety programme.
The Driven by Consequences initiative has been running for 10 years and aims to reduce the number of young people killed or seriously injured on Bromley roads.
Executive Councillor for Environment, William-Huntington-Thresher, said: “This essential awareness and knowledge has helped to reduce the number of accidents in our borough, particularly involving younger drivers, statistically the group most at risk, and we very much look forward to extending the course’s coverage to other interested schools across the borough.”
Bromley Council statistics show that ‘in car’ casualties involving people aged 16-24 have declined by 24 per cent from 188 in 2010 to 110 in 2016.
Figures also show that one in five young drivers crash within one year of passing their test.
Driven by Consequences targets teenagers aged 16 and 17 who are about to start driving.
