Poundworld goes into administration
Poundworld has announced it will close 80 of its stores next month – including the one in Bexleyheath.
The Bexleyheath store, located on the Broadway, will shut for good in August leaving 17 of its staff redundant.
In April – the discount company said 1,500 jobs were at risk as they planned to shut one third of its high street stores.
It’s been a tumultuous 2018 for high street stores with New Look, Byron and Prezzo all struggling.
The Sutton High Street store will also close resulting in 10 redundancies.
