A major Beckenham road was closed this morning after a man was spotted "acting suspiciously" and was believed to be carrying a gun.
Police were called shortly after 10am this morning (July 9) to South Eden Park Road in Beckenham following reports of a man acting suspiciously and believed to be in possession of a firearm.
Officers attended and a man was arrested nearby on suspicion of possession of a firearm and impersonating a police officer.
He has been taken to a south London police station where he remains in custody.
The weapon is believed to be an imitation firearm and enquiries continue.
Travel for London has Tweeted that the roads open again and buses no longer will be diverted.
