A Millwall supporters’ group has launched a fundraising campaign to help repair an ambulance which was “vandalised” after England’s World Cup win over Sweden.
The London Ambulance Service was left furious after a minority of supporters jumped on top of the vehicle, denting its bonnet and smashing its windscreen.
An officer for the emergency service was responding to a patient in the time they were away, only to find their vehicle needing repairs.
Obviously we are chuffed with the result this afternoon but there is absolutely NO excuse to vandalise emergency service vehicles by jumping on them..

This vehicle is now off the road and unable to respond to patients.

In a tweet, the London Ambulance Service’s Joint Response Unit said: “Obviously we are chuffed with the result this afternoon but there is absolutely NO excuse to vandalise emergency service vehicles by jumping on them.
“This vehicle is now off the road and unable to respond to patients.
“We are better than this England…”
A Met Police spokesman said no arrests have been made at this current stage.
Now Millwall Supporters’ Club want to raise £5,000 to help repair the emergency response vehicle and get it back on the road.
But even if the insurance company pays for the repairs, all money raised will still go to the London Ambulance Service.

The page says: “At the Millwall Supporters’ Club we think it is very important to help our local community, so we want to help to raise funds to help with the repair of an emergency response vehicle that was damaged after the England vs Sweden game in the World Cup 2018 Quarter Final.
“We are very grateful for any donations and support you can offer.”
A total of £2,314 has been raised so far on the JustGiving page at the time of publishing.
Harry Maguire and Deli Alli goals against Sweden helped England secure their first World Cup semi-final clash for the first time in 28 years since 1990.
They will now face Croatia in the last four and, should they progress, come up against either Belgium or France in the final on July 15.
We're delighted with the result, but this has put a big dampener on the celebrations for us: while our officer attended a call nearby, this car was damaged in Borough High Street during the celebrations after the game - it's now off the road to be repaired. pic.twitter.com/V71kOEn4OO
