British Transport Police have released CCTV images after a man was stabbed in New Eltham railway station.

The victim, 41, was taken to hospital after the attack.

On Thursday night (June 28) a group of youths approached the victim as he stood on a London bound platform at around 10.35pm.

A British Transport Police spokesman added: "An argument then started between the victim and the group which led to them chasing the man out of the station.

"Once on the road outside the station, they stabbed the victim in the leg. He was taken to hospital but his injuries were not believed to be life threatening."

UPDATE - A suspect has been arrested after a male was spotted by officers in Marlborough Park taking Nitrous Oxide. 

The male was arrested on suspicion of posession with intent to supply and possession of Class B Drugs before later being arrested at the station on suspicion of Grevous Bodily Harm. 

This was in connection to the stabbing in New Eltham railway station. 

Three males were seached in the park and six bags of cannnabis and a bag of white powder were found on the floor by the bench.
