An Eltham woman has had her savings stolen after her home was burgled.

Linh Mai, 28, returned to her house on Legatt Road on Wednesday (June 20) evening to find her front door broken in.

Her neighbour informed her that an alarm sounded at 7.45pm before two men were spotted running away.

Linh told News Shopper: “They went into one room and the alarm went off very loudly. They were only here for two minutes.

“They grabbed some cash from my savings and some valuables.

“My neighbour was doing work in the front garden for an hour and a half before going in for dinner – that’s when they went in.”

Once the alarm went off the neighbour phoned police before Linh returned from work just after 8pm.

She added: “It’s not nice but what can I do? Hopefully someone recognises them.”

News Shopper has contacted the Met Police for more information.
