Another Bromley man has been arrested after hundreds of attempts were made to smuggle migrants into the UK.

News Shopper reported yesterday (June 20) how the suspected ringleader, who lives in Penge, was arrested as part of the UK-Belgian investigation.

The National Crime Agency believe hundreds of attempts have been made to smuggle migrants to the UK from Belgium by corrupting truck drivers.

Since the arrest of Albanian national and suspected ringleader Alket Dauti, 31, officers have brought in two further suspects, with one of them being from Bromley.

Sabah Zeka, 34, from Bromley, was held after arriving into Gatwick airport on a flight from Tirana in the early hours of this morning.

Kujdesi Dauti, 33, from Hornchurch, was arrested at the East 10 Enterprise Park in Lee Valley yesterday.

Both are Albanian nationals and will appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court today and will face extradition to Belgium on people smuggling charges.

Ten others have been arrested in Belgium, France and Spain as part of the investigation.
