Diversions are set to be in place in Crayford until next Monday (June 25) after emergency works on a main road.

Gas company SGN said emergency repairs needed to be carried out on pipes in Crayford Road (A207) which would last for about a week.

Crayford Road has been closed westbound between the roundabout to access Station Road and the Roman Way one-way system.

Diversions are signed via Dartford Road, A226, A206 and A2000 for drivers travelling westbound.

Dan Brown, SGN spokesman, told News Shopper the works to the gas main have now been completed.

But the gas company is now working with Bexley Council to repair the road surface.

The latest assessment confirms diversions and closures are expected to be lifted on Monday, June 25.
