A spate of car crime has taken hold across Crayford over the last week, according to police.

From the end of May to the beginning of June, seven incidents involving car crime were reported to police in the Crayford ward.

On May 29, the owner of a car had parked at Crayside Leisure Centre while going shopping. When they returned, the car's windows had been smashed.

It is suspected that a Kawasaki that had been chained in a secure building in Alcock Crescent was stolen, along with two bicycles, were taken on the same day.

Two cars, a Kia and a Vauxhall Corsa, were targeted outside Crayford train station within two days, where their number plates were stolen.

A Toyota Yaris that was "locked and secured" was stolen from Green Walk on Monday, June 4. After triggering the ANPR camera near Bluewater, the car was stopped and an arrest was made.

The following day, three men were seen tampering with car door handles in cars on Halcott Avenue in the early hours of the morning. They ran off after being disturbed.

Later that day, a Ford Transit work van was found in Iron Mill Lane was found with its rear tyres slashed.
