A family of swans were spotted heading to Morrisons in Thamesmead for a supposed shopping trip.

The two parents and seven baby cygnets left their home by the pond and walked across the car park towards the supermarket on May 30.

Thamesmead's famous swans are known to frequent the shopping centre and loiter outside, possibly because fellow shoppers like to feed them.

With the latest generation of swans born, their parents are simply continuing the fine Thamesmead family tradition of stopping by the local store.

It's not all shopping trips for the swans though. A group of residents have had to set up a swan patrol as someone has been killing Thamesmead swans, with a number of them found decapitated earlier this year.
