Seven men have been charged with burglary offences after a Bromley Police investigation into night-time burglaries.

Five of the arrests were first made on Tuesday, May 22, during a dawn swoop.

Four of the men charged were from Bromley and one from Bexley.

Those arrested were:

David Cakebread, 36, Woodside Road, Bexley

Jesse Eastwood, 26, of Mosul Way, Bromley

Freddie Mockler, 19, of Southfleet Road, Orpington

David Smith, 19, of Augustine Road, Orpington

A 17-year-old boy from Orpington was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit theft.

All five were charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit theft and were released on conditional bail and will appear at Croydon Crown Court on June 20.

Since then – two more men have been arrested after the Bromley Crime Squad conducted further swoops.

Jack Andrews, 28, of Alder Road, Sidcup and Perry Rye, 20, of Okemore Gardens, Orpington, were charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit theft.

Andrews will remain in custody to appear at Croydon Crown Court on June 20 and Rye was released on conditional bail to appear at Croydon Crown Court on June 20.

Detective Sergeant Gary Head, leader of the operation for Bromley crime squad, said earlier this month: "Burglary is an abhorrent crime and many of the offences we are investigating occurred while the victims were asleep in their own home.

"This operation is aimed at making sure those involved in such criminality will be brought to account. The message is clear, officers from Bromley will track down burglars and bring them to justice."
