If you are struggling to find things to keep the kids occupied this half-term, have a look at our guide for inspiration

Take the kids to Churchill Theatre, Bromley

From May 24 to 27, David Walliams’ Awful Auntie will be live on stage. When Stella sets off to visit London with her parents, Lord and Lady Saxby, she has no idea her life is in danger. Waking up three months later, only her Aunt Alberta can tell Stella what has happened.

OR

May 29 and 30 there will be a Superhero Puppetry Workshop. Kids will learn how to build their own basic puppet and create characters from easy-to-source materials that can be recreated at home. They will learn the skills of puppetry manipulation and movement and take on skills in puppetry, physical theatre and ensemble performance, and create their own awesome, courageous superhero or villain.

Learn at Crofton Roman Villa, Orpington

On May 30 take the kids to Crofton Roman Villa and travel back in time to discover facts about the Romans. Children will have the chance to handle Roman objects, dress like a Roman and dig for finds in excavation trays.

Visit the Cutty Sark, Greenwich

From May 25 to 28 the Cutty Sark Garden Festival takes place. The events will include street food, craft stalls, live music stage and a bar area. There will also be rides for the children so the whole family can get involved.

OR

On June 2 and 3 the kids can create their own maritime-themed board game. How your sailors make it to the end of the game is up to you.

See exotic butterflies in Forest Hill

The Butterfly House at the Horniman Museum is open daily, but you will need to book as it gets very busy, very quickly. The specially-planted habitat is the perfect place to see butterflies and discover amazing facts about the life-cycle and behaviours. Spot species from around the world and by nature inspired gifts for all ages.

Go to the circus in Swanley

From May 20 to June 3 get down to Swanley Park to see Happy Circus hosting a charity show during their first ever visit to the area.

Proceeds from the opening night will go to Beams, a charity that supports disabled children and their families.

The opening night show starts at 7pm and tickets can be purchased at www.happyscircus.co.uk.

See dinosaurs at Bluewater

You will be able to go on the roar-some dino train every day of May half-term. Kids will be able to come face-to-face with real dinosaurs around the shopping centre. Pick up a trail map from the concierge desk and you could even win a prehistoric prize.
