Bexley Council have been left red-faced after a quick-fix road improvement was mocked on social media.
A photo shared with News Shopper shows a pothole that has been filled in by a pedestrian crossing, which has covered over the road marking directing people to look right before they cross.
When the photo was posted on Facebook, some people joked: "You would never know it was a repair!"
Another said: "You could accurately say that doesn't 'look right' anymore."
Some people also called for the "shoddy" improvement, at the junction of Crayford Road and Roman Way, to be redone.
However, Bexley Council has insisted this filling is just a temporary measure, and temporary road markings will be put in place soon, before permanent repairs are carried out.
A spokeswoman from the council said: "This pot hole has been filled immediately to make it safe. Temporary road markings are due to be added.
"We will carry out permanent repairs shortly. The work will involve the road being closed for a night and a diversion put in place."
