Many people in SE London enjoyed the royal wedding and glorious weather at the weekend, but unfortunately not all revellers cleaned up after themselves.

Shocking photos shared with News Shopper show the extent of rubbish and dirt left behind in Winn's Common, Plumstead, on Sunday morning.

Some photos show discarded tissue and rubbish bags strewn across the ground, while others show what appears to be the remnants of prawn shells and condiments on a table in the common.

Meat forks and sharp knives were left on the table after a feast, presenting a potential danger to others.

After the photos were posted in a Facebook group, people shared comments about their disgust at the state of the public space, denouncing the people who left the mess as "filthy pigs".

One user said: "What is wrong with these people. Who do they think is going to clear up after them? Disgusting."

Another person insisted someone should call the police after the knife was left out in broad daylight, while others promised to report it to the council.

Greenwich Council has confirmed the rubbish has now been completely cleared from the site.
