After months of preparation - the largest timetable change in decades has finally been introduced.

This comes after Β£7 billion was invested in Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) and Southeastern - the main train operators in south east London and north Kent.

Some of the money is being used to rebuild London Bridge station, deliver modern trains and to make track improvements.

Bosses say the new timetable will increase the number of train services and will improve reliability.

An additional 400 GTR trains will run daily after the timetable was delivered on Sunday, May 20.

GTR chief executive Charles Horton said: "We are introducing the biggest ever change to rail timetables to significantly boost capacity on the UK's most congested network."

However, not everyone is satisfied withΒ their normal route being changed.

News Shopper recently reported how commuters travelling from Orpington to London Victoria are being hit with a reduction in services.

Disruption is expected over the coming weeks as trains and crews are redeployed.

Some commuters took to Twitter this morning as they experienced their first journeys under the new timetable.
