A stretch of road has been closed off in a Woolwich street after a huge hole appeared in the ground.
Photos obtained by News Shopper show a hole in the middle of Conduit Road, which appears to be a collapse of newly-laid tarmac.
Since the hole first appeared, a larger part of the road has been cordoned off with orange fencing.
A nearby resident told News Shopper it has been surprisingly quiet on the street since the hole appeared.
She said: "There's been less accidents if I'm honest because you get the odd speeder who flies over the crossing onto oncoming traffic."
Works are understood to be ongoing at the site of the hole.
