A Belvedere drug dealer has been jailed for three years after being caught with 40 bags of heroin and cocaine.

27-year-old Jebb Green, from Gordon Road, was arrested by officers from Kent Police in Gravesend after being spotted shaking hands with a suspected drug user in the area.

Green pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine and heroin with intent to supply and was sentenced to three years in prison at Woolwich Crown Court.

The court heard that, on April 14, a police officer became suspicious of a man pacing up and down while constantly looking at his phone. The man then met Green a few minutes later.

The pair shook hands - which Kent Police identifies as a common method of exchanging drugs - which made the officer even more suspicious.

After requesting patrols, the officer and a team arrested Green. Once he was in police custody, officers found the class A drugs on him, which were later verified to be cocaine and heroin.

Investigating officer DC Daniel Bister said: "Green was arrested following a very good piece of proactive policing work and I welcome the sentence he has received.

"I would encourage anyone with information on drug activity to report it to us on 101 so that we can take the necessary action."
