A JustGiving page has been set up to return the £600 stolen from a pensioner who was attacked inside his home.

Ron Cork, 96, was left "battered" after his home in Ronfearn Avenue, St Mary Cray was targeted by burglars.

The victim's grandson, Justin Cork, said £600 was taken in the attack by two teenagers which left Ron in hospital.

Justin told News Shopper his grandad was in a "serious but stable" condition and would need to stay in hospital for more than two months.

A statement on the JustGiving page reads: "I saw this posted on a local page and I became extremely angered and saddened by such an awful thing to happen to someone, the local community have shared the post and there have been thousands of shares, in the hope that who did this to poor Ron is found, but I thought to myself, what if the small kindness left in this world could come together and help donate to help this poor man.

"It won't change what has happened but it could at least help! Any donation would be so kind and perhaps we could help this man on the road to recovery."

Appealing for help to catch the burglars, grandson Justin added to News Shopper: "Someone somewhere knows who this is and they need to be found before more vulnerable people fall victim."
