Shocking footage obtained by News Shopper shows a huge break in a main road in Penge as what appears to be a burst water pipe floods the street.
The video, posted on social media, shows Beckenham Road, near Kent House train station, completely flooded with murky water as it gushes out of the tarmac on a pedestrian crossing.
Tweets from the scene show the area cordoned off, with London Fire Brigade present.

A spokesman from Thames Water said: “We have a team at the scene now to stop the flow of water. They will then investigate what has happened and get started on repairing the damaged water pipe and road.
"We’re sorry for any disruption this causes and will do all we can to get the job done as quickly as possible.”
London Fire Brigade has been contacted for comment.
