Southeastern commuters travelling through Hither Green have taken to Twitter to complain about a freight train "taking priority".
The train company said in a statement: "Delays on services through the Hither Green area due to late running freight train. Apologies for any inconvenience caused."
As you can expect, commuters were quick to voice their anguish.
One wrote: "Decided to get the early train today, was running a couple minutes behind until we arrived at Hither Green and got held... and then my usual train overtook the earlier train. F****** priceless."
Here is what other Twitter users said about the Hither Green delays.
Why do freight trains have priority? Park IT up and make IT wait.

@Se_Railway sort your trains out. Tired of waiting forever to get to hither green from central London. Increased fees for a crap service.

@Se_Railway why have we been sitting at Hither Green for 10 minutes? We left Lee at 7:08.

Train 10 minutes later. 0654 Grove Park to Lewisham this morning! Stuck outside Hither Green with no explanation.
That excuse is the worst. We're still not at london Bridge and since your excuse is worthless perhaps an apology might be in order...

This happens a lot. The 9.39 from Orpington is often delayed 10 mins while a freight train trundles through. But then it’s a totally crap service on SE most of the time
