A reward of £20,000 has been offered for information regarding the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old teenager from Penge.

Michael Jonas was attacked at Betts Park in Penge on November 2, 2017, by a “group of males”.

The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene at 8.15pm that evening and a post mortem confirmed the cause of death as stab wounds to the chest and bleeding.

Bromley Police officers and Michael’s family were in Betts Park on Thursday (April 26) appealing for information.

Michael had just turned 17 before his death.

His dad, Mike, told News Shopper this month: “We would love people to make the change by coming forward and giving information that could lead to the arrest so we can get these people off the streets and get back our community and get back our London.

“The lack of information from people might be because they feel like they don’t trust the police and they might start feeling like if they talk they might get involved. There are so many things that make people feel they can’t come forward.”

Police charged six teenagers, aged between 14 and 18, in the wake of the stabbing but on January 15 the Crown Prosecution Service dropped the charges.
