Erith Town Football Club is hosting a charity match today (April 28) in a bid to raise £750 for a youth charity.

Sevenoaks Town will visit the Oakwood ground to play for charity, For Jimmy. A day of fundraising and a Player of the Year ceremony will accompany the match.

The charity was set up by Barry and Margaret Mizen after their son, Jimmy, was killed in a stabbing in a Lewisham bakery ten years ago.

Since Jimmy's death, the organisation has worked to engage with young people to prevent them falling into crime in later life.

To commemorate the tenth anniversary of his death, players will be wearing t-shirts with '10 Years For Jimmy' printed on them.

Club owner, Mark Deveney, has supported the charity for three years after first becoming familiar with its work through a local rugby club.

He has invited the Lord Mayor of Bexley and Erith MP Theresa Pearce to come along for the day.

The match will kick off at 3pm, and all proceeds will go towards the charity. Anyone who is unable to attend can donate to the charity by texting JIMM16£5 to 70070.
