When Millwall walked out onto the field for the game with Fulham last weekend, Jed Wallace came out with a special, heart-warming guest.

As he strode out onto the pitch, he carried the six-year-old Millwall supporter Ellice Barr as the club’s mascot for the team.

Wallace is Ellice’s hero and the opportunity arose when Ellice’s dad tweeted the player asking for his support for his daughter’s campaign.

Ellice was 22 months old when she was diagnosed with diplegic cerebral palsy, which interferes with messages sent from the brain through her spinal cord.

There is a surgery the Kent girl can get, called SDR surgery, which can improve her range of motions and allow her to get dressed on her own.

Wallace was able to get her in contact with the club and she got an exclusive tour around the dressing room before the game.

The donation drive to get Ellice this surgery has reached 69 per cent of its funding goal, currently at almost £45,000 of the £65,000 funding goal.

A Millwall spokesman said: “Everyone at Millwall was immensely proud to welcome Ellice and her family to The Den and we hope she enjoyed meeting all the players, especially Jed Wallace, and the unforgettable reception she received from the fans also.

“It’s a fantastic and worthy cause and one which the club is all too happy to continue supporting.”
