Beer fans across Bexley will be able to try and enjoy a range of ales, ciders and perrys as the Bexley Beer Festival returns for its 13th year.

Running from May 3 to May 5, the annual beer festival, organised by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), will be held at the Dartfordians Community Sports Club in Bexley.

The event brings together beer lovers to try more than 90 different beers from across Kent, and some from other counties too.

Among the breweries supplying to the event are Swanley’s Brew Buddies, which will offer some vegetarian and vegan beers, and Erith’s Bexley Brewery.

Another brewery featuring in the festival will be newly-established No Frills Joe from Greenhithe.

Snacks will also be provided to soak up the alcohol with both hot and cold food being served.

This year, the festival will be promoting the Bexley Mayor’s charity, Parkinson’s UK. CAMRA chair, Roland Amos, will sponsor the charity when he shaves his head and beard.

Entry to the festival will be free for CAMRA members and people under the age of 26 (but proof of age must be provided). An entrance fee of £3 applies to all others.

Entrants will have to pay a deposit of £3 for their beer glasses.

The festival will kick off at 2pm on Thursday, May 3.
