Plans have been approved to build a huge new rugby club for Dartford Valley RFC.

The club will be built on the site of the Stone Lodge Complex on Cotton Lane, just over a mile from Dartford Town Centre.

The site due for construction lies north of the Dartford Judo Club and Dartford Bowling Club, and will include the pitches, equipped with 18m high floodlights, a two-storey clubhouse, and a car park.

Among the proposals are for the clubhouse to sit in between the two pitches, one of which will be a 3G all weather pitch.

The clubhouse is proposed to include four changing rooms, a function room and a bar, and a terrace overlooking the pitches.

Official minutes of the meeting have not yet been published, but Dartford Borough Council has confirmed to News Shopper that plans have been approved.
